When you watch it, please replace "hacker" with BDSM in your mind and think about how much of this applies to us, especially the way we structure classes/cons/events in a way that elevates certain people in such a way that they been enabled to do terrible things.

Worse still, we see "leadership perks" being baked into our culture, whether that's sex, kink or money.

I've seen great improvements in this area in the last couple of years, but we still have a way to go. Too many individuals in our community shroud themselves with their teacher or leader persona and are either absolved of terrible activity, or worse, use their influence to go after those who bring up concerns.

We can and must do better.
