Fight Injustice Everywhere

That's right- that's the whole message- Fight Injustice Everywhere.

If you see people getting an unfair shake because they were born into a body with a different color than the people in power, help them.

If you see people getting an unfair shake because they were born with a body with certain genitals and not other genitals, help them.

If you see people getting an unfair shake because they prefer sex with certain types of people, and society doesn't like that, help them.

If you see people getting an unfair shake because they were born into a body that does not match their gender identity, help them.

If you see people who practice an idea of religion or spirituality that doesn't match the society at large and are persecuted just for their beliefs, help them.

If you see people who can't express their preferred gender pronouns because they're odd or unusual, help them.

If you see people who can't be open about their romantic or sexual life because for no other reason than society dictates it be a certain way, help them.

If you see people persecuted because they were born in a certain place and not another place, help them.

But what I ask you not to do is measure one group's suffering against another. We can acknowledge the past and pay respects to it, but we must stay present. The way to honor past struggles is to give them a voice and provide perspective, it is not to crush the opposition nor turn a blind eye to the suffering of a group today. We must also acknowledge that not everyone of a certain group has the same experience either and that even amongst those in power there are those who are oppressed.

Your side may be oppressed today and you may be the victor tomorrow.

You may be the powerful today and fall from power.

There may be forces beyond your control that lead to either outcome.

But you individually can choose your behavior.
